Outpatient Program Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Clinician to join our dynamic team at North York General Hospital. As a key member of our Adult Mental Health Outpatient Program, you will be responsible for providing client-centered assessments, short-term structured counseling, and support services for individuals and groups.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and group counseling to clients in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Brief Structured therapies.
- Lead Anger Management group counseling sessions.
- Support and adhere to hospital and college policies and procedures.
- Perform administrative duties, including record-keeping and data collection.
- Participate in the education of staff, students, and the larger community.
- Develop and maintain effective linkages with hospital services, family physicians, and other mental health organizations.
- Attend relevant committees and staff meetings.
- Conduct in-depth intake and initial assessments of clients and their systems.
- Maintain client charts, statistics, and other related client and workload measurement documents.
- Access, coordinate, and advocate for services and resources to meet client needs.
- Consult with other service providers to promote continuity of care.
- Participate in research and evaluation activities.
- Provide supervision to students.
- Work in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, or a related discipline.
- Current membership in a regulated professional college or equivalence.
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in mental health.
- Experience with providing CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Brief therapies.
- Effective knowledge and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Ability to set priorities, organize, and coordinate activities.
- Demonstrate clinical competence.
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with hard-to-serve clients.
