Job Title: Director of Sustainability Initiatives

Apotex Inc., a global health company, is seeking a Director of Sustainability Initiatives to develop and implement our sustainability strategy, ensuring compliance with ESG reporting frameworks and regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement Apotex's sustainability/ESG strategy aligned to our business objectives and 5-year strategy.
  • Develop and execute communications strategies to tell our sustainability story, including our ESG strategy, progress, and achievements to a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with global ESG reporting frameworks and regulatory obligations, by monitoring and analyzing ESG trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Lead the development of environmental sustainability programs and initiatives in collaboration with leaders in our Global Operations team.
  • Work with subject matter experts in the social and governance pillars to ensure objectives and programs are aligned to our ESG strategy.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience with preference for candidates with an advanced degree.
  • Strong understanding of ESG principles, reporting frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, writing, strategic thinking, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation related to ESG metrics.
  • Solid organizational skills with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage senior leaders in assessing development needs.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in ESG strategy, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage external partnerships.
