McCain Foods is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Environmental Sustainability to lead our environmental sustainability initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement comprehensive environmental sustainability strategies aligned with the organization's goals and regulatory requirements.
- Lead cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into manufacturing processes and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Monitor and report on key environmental performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress towards sustainability goals and identify areas for improvement.
- Stay abreast of emerging environmental trends, technologies, and best practices, and incorporate relevant innovations into the company's sustainability strategy.
- Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, industry organizations, and other stakeholders to stay informed about environmental requirements and developments.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in environmental management, sustainability, environmental project and program management, or related roles, with demonstrated leadership experience.
- 12+ years of practical experience in the food and beverage industry, or similar industrial production environment with expertise in wastewater, operation, and management.
- Wastewater treatment experience is a requirement (10+ years). Strength demonstrated in anaerobic and aerobic treatment design, operations, and troubleshooting.
- Technical experience related to energy usage and reduction processes and best practices (5+ years).
- Air quality experience relative to National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) (5+ years or equivalent) is desired.
- Water supply and water recycling experience is desired.
- Recognition as SME outside of the company via a leadership position in an industry or standards organization.
- High level of proficiency in continuous improvement applications in engineering design.
