Job Overview

The Scotiabank is seeking a highly skilled National Accounts Portfolio Manager to oversee a portfolio of National Accounts customers in Canada. This role contributes to the profitable growth and quality of the Bank's Commercial Credit portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  1. Leads and drives a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  2. Contributes to the profitable development of Commercial National Accounts by interfacing with clients and prospects in ensuring smooth onboarding and account maintenance and compliance.
  3. Participates in the timely analysis, structuring, and preparation of lending and non-lending proposals under the guidance of the Director & Head, National Accounts.
  4. Supports other National Accounts deal teams from time-to-time by providing prompt and sound recommendations in the structuring, pricing, due diligence, analysis, and underwriting of credit proposals.
  5. Recommends pricing for loans and credit-related fees that yields a return commensurate with risk and due regard to profit, administration, and competitive considerations.
  6. Synthesizes information from various sources and recommends alternative terms, conditions, and covenants to provide a viable banking proposal to the client within sound credit lending practices.
  7. Identifies and recommends referral and cross-sell opportunities to team members from other Commercial Banking groups and/or to bank partners including Global Banking & Markets and Global Wealth Management.
  8. Supports other National Accounts deal teams from time-to-time, including but not limited to supporting on credit underwriting assignments.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Graduate/Undergraduate degree in Business or Economics or equivalency.
  • Assessment and analysis skills.
  • Accounting and financial analysis skills.
  • Sales/closing skills.
  • Strong financial modeling and proficiency with MS Office including Excel.
  • Ability to build solid business case justification for deals.

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The estimated salary for this position is between $120,000 and $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
