The Purchasing Lead is a key role within Victor Energy, responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies tailored to the powerline industry. This position requires a strong understanding of procurement best practices and market trends specific to the powerline industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet business objectives
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  • Monitor market trends and conditions specific to powerline materials and equipment
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers and contractors
  • Ensure compliance with contractual agreements and procurement policies
  • Manage contract renewals and extensions specific to powerline projects
  • Oversee the day-to-day procurement activities and ensure timely delivery of powerline materials and services
  • Manage the procurement team, providing guidance, training, and support
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentation
  • Monitor procurement budgets and expenditures related to powerline projects
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to reduce expenses
  • Prepare reports and analyses on procurement activities and performance
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to powerline procurement
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with the procurement process
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure ethical and transparent procurement practices
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Business Degree (or similar) is required
  • Proven experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the powerline or utility industry
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and market trends specific to the powerline industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineering and construction
