We are a professional consulting engineering firm that provides project planning, engineering design, and project management services to the oil and gas industry. Our expertise lies in conventional oil and gas projects, heavy oil (SAGD, CSS) processing, and enhanced oil recovery projects.

Main Duties and Competencies

The Instrumentation Lead is a senior member of the engineering leadership team and will report to the department lead. Key duties include:

  • Leading a team of instrumentation engineers/specialists and designers for a sustainable program or multiple projects at a time.
  • Liaising with I&C vendors and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Steering review sessions for I&C deliverables with different project stakeholders, including clients' project teams.
  • Coordinating with project management teams to ensure I&C activities are aligned with the agreed project schedule.
  • Reviewing and checking I&C deliverables, including datasheets, sizing calculations, MR packages, and control drawings/deliverables.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to intermediate/junior engineers in their day-to-day activities.
  • Representing the I&C team to clients and being responsible for meeting client expectations.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least ten (10) years of accomplished experience in I&C engineering, with the majority being in the oil and gas industry.
  • Proven lead experience either at project level or at a program level.
  • Experience with oil and gas industry projects of various sizes is preferred.
  • Degree/Technology certification or equivalent.
  • Professional membership with APEGA or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent diplomatic and communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team, including process, mechanical, electrical, and CAD support.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines.
