Role: Senior Engineer/Scientist, Instrumentation and Control
Type: Permanent Employment
Department: Design, Engineering, and Sites
Hours: 37.5 per week
About the Role:
Kinectrics is at the forefront of supporting the development and implementation of new nuclear power technologies, including Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and Advanced Reactors. Our newly established Advanced Reactor Design section plays a crucial role in this growth, serving as a collaborative hub for design services related to SMRs and advanced nuclear technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of conceptual and detailed designs throughout the structured design process.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering team members.
- Utilize expertise in electrical and instrumentation engineering, focusing on control systems and equipment specifications.
- Engage with construction and procurement partners, ensuring effective solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assess client challenges and propose appropriate solutions.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Stay informed on advancements in the field of expertise.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Electrical/I&C Engineering or equivalent.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in new build design or SMR design is advantageous.
- Familiarity with nuclear safety and licensing is a plus.
- Proficiency in control system theory and design is essential.
- Knowledge of nuclear codes and standards is required.
- Candidates should be pursuing or have attained the P.Eng. designation.

- Capability to work under pressure and lead complex projects.
