We are a professional consulting engineering firm specializing in project planning, engineering design, and project management services for the Oil and Gas industry. Our expertise includes conventional Oil and Gas projects, heavy oil (SAGD, CSS) processing, and enhanced oil recovery projects.

Main Duties and Competencies

The Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Program Lead is a senior member of our engineering leadership team, responsible for guiding and coaching the program team. Key duties include:

  • Leading a team of I&C Engineers/Specialists and designers for sustainable programs or multiple projects
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to intermediate/junior engineers
  • Reviewing client scope documents, seeking clarifications, and providing detailed I&C man-hour estimations for proposals
  • Coordinating with project management teams to align I&C activities with project schedules and client expectations
  • Reviewing and checking I&C deliverables, including datasheets, sizing calculations, MR packages, and control drawings
  • Assisting in preparing cost estimates for I&C bids and proposal work
  • Providing I&C inputs to detailed scope of work, design basis documents, and project execution plans
  • Representing the I&C team to clients and ensuring meeting client expectations
  • Steering review sessions for I&C deliverables with project stakeholders, including clients' operations/project teams
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least ten years of experience in Instrumentation and Controls in the Oil and Gas industry
  • CET or P. Eng. (preferably)
  • Leadership experience in Instrumentation and Controls in past projects
  • Strong analytical and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to coordinate I&C work with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies
  • Capability to provide engineering estimates
  • Ability to work in a diverse team environment
