Retail Department Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Retail Department Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our retail store department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to our team members, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a high level of visual presentation standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision and leadership to team members, working closely with the Group Sales Manager to achieve departmental goals.
- Delegate tasks and work assignments to team members, providing clear direction and follow-up to ensure proper execution.
- Foster the growth and development of team members through training and coaching.
- Ensure team members adhere to standard operating procedures and systems processes, providing correction and guidance when needed.
- Perform administrative tasks related to the department, including maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Provide legendary customer service by identifying and evaluating customers' needs, making product recommendations based on analysis.
- Promote company programs to team members and customers, ensuring a seamless shopping experience.
- Maintain visual presentation standards, including in-store signage, merchandise recovery, and sales floor maintenance.
- Respond to and resolve customer issues using good judgment and logic.
- Assist in other areas of the store as needed, supporting business needs and goals.
Requirements:
- Two or more years of supervisory experience in a sales or service environment is preferred.
- Open availability, including store opening and closing shifts, as well as weekends.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to evaluate customers' needs and make recommendations based on analysis.
- Ability to provide superior customer service and exceed customer expectations.
- Ability to use good judgment and logic.
- Experience in a related field or outdoor lifestyle is an asset.
- Knowledge of Bass Pro Shops & Cabela's specific products is an asset.
