Your Opportunity:

The Halvar Jonson Centre for Brain Injury is a leading provider of care for patients with acquired brain injury, utilizing an interdisciplinary approach. The Therapy Assistant role is a key part of this team, working under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to implement individual and group interventions related to patients' rehabilitation goals. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Description:

As a Therapy Assistant, you will contribute to the delivery of effective and efficient rehabilitation services, including direct and indirect client care across the healthcare continuum. This role requires a strong commitment to professionalism and ethics, as well as the ability to work effectively with internal and external partners. You will have opportunities to use your interpersonal and clinical skills in contributing to quality improvement, program planning, and student supervision.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training may be considered. You must have strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team.

Additional Required Qualifications:

You must be physically capable of carrying out this role, which deals with heavy and complex patients and may involve transfers, mobility, and some transfers. CPR certification is also required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Greater than three months' experience working in an inpatient rehabilitation interdisciplinary team providing care for stroke and brain-injured patients is desired. To ensure your skills and qualifications are considered, please attach a resume and cover letter with your application.
