We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Social Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a Social Worker, you will play a vital role in providing mental health services to children and adolescents in our schools.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our team to provide school-based mental health services, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders. You will also work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in clinical social work, with a specialization in mental health. You will have a Master's degree in Social Work and a minimum of two years of experience working in a mental health setting. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate who is passionate about working with children and adolescents, and who has a strong commitment to providing high-quality mental health services. You will have a strong understanding of the principles of behavior management, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and group therapy, and will be able to apply these principles in a school-based setting.
You will also have a strong understanding of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V) and will be able to use it to assess and diagnose mental health disorders in children and adolescents. You will have excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to prepare comprehensive written reports and present findings to colleagues and stakeholders.
Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent part-time position, working 37.5 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $37.31 - $49.05. You will also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
