Job Overview

Saskatchewan Polytechnic is seeking an experienced and motivated instructor to teach Leadership and Professionalism courses in the Supply Chain Management Post-Graduate Certificate program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct students enrolled in Business programs, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Design and implement a student-centered classroom using an outcome-based approach, fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.
  • Be flexible and responsive to learner needs through the use of appropriate instructional methodologies, adapting to individual requirements and preferences.
  • Manage the classroom to ensure an optimum learning environment, maintaining a structured and productive atmosphere.
  • Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community, promoting diversity and inclusivity.
  • Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students, supporting their growth and development.
  • Respond to curriculum/course demands and make necessary adjustments according to learner needs, incorporating adult learning principles and accommodating special learning requirements.
  • Develop new curriculum as needed, staying up-to-date with industry trends and educational best practices.
  • Be reflective of and responsive to accommodation of special learning needs, including equity groups and diverse learners, ensuring equal access and opportunities for all.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements, enhancing knowledge and skills.
  • Work co-operatively in an interdependent team environment, contributing to a collaborative and supportive workplace culture.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
  • Four-year Bachelor degree in Commerce or Administration; OR equivalent 4-year Business degree; OR related 4-year degree with major or related experience in specialty area to be taught; OR Business diploma with related experience in specialty area to be taught.
  • Recent/relevant work experience (2 years in the last 5) in a business environment in the field of supply chain management.
  • Effective communication skills (written and oral).
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
  • Effective instructional ability.
  • Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software and ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
  • Demonstrates valuing diversity.
