The Opportunity
This is a full-time, 18-month Term position located in our Fort Saskatchewan, AB office. There is no relocation subsidy assigned for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer the purchasing of materials and services supporting multi-trade and operational requirements
- Source new vendors and obtain quotes
- Generate purchase orders (POs) and maintain vendor account information
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with vendors
- Maintain purchasing filing and documentation
- Work closely with Accounting department to ensure required information is accurate and timely
- Ensure all requisitions are appropriately coded and approved prior to execution
- Expedite outstanding POs and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Monitor open POs, including highlighting when increases are required and when POs are ready for closure
- Participate in the planning, work-hour calculations and budgeting as it relates to project purchasing activities
- Pre-qualify vendors
- Identify opportunities to optimize procurement of goods and services
- Prepare, issue, and coordinate RFx’s
- Evaluate proposals commercially
- Conduct negotiations
- Establish and maintain vendor contract files and contract database, and administer contracts ensuring the interests of the Company are protected
- Create & manage real-time processes & metrics for continuous improvement related to Supply Chain strategy

Qualifications and Experience
**Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a Supply Chain designation an asset

**Experience**:

- 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement activities

**Skills**:

- Strong attention to detail
- Customer service mindset
- Problem solver
- Able to work both collaboratively and independently
- Operations background in pipeline or other field disciplines considered a very strong asset
