Communication Professor

Saskatchewan Polytechnic seeks a qualified Communication Professor to join its team of educators. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach and mentor students in various post-secondary programs.
Estimated SalaryThe estimated salary for this position is between $80,000 and $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities- Teaching and Instruction: Provide instruction in communications to students enrolled in a variety of post-secondary programs, utilizing effective teaching methods and strategies to ensure student engagement and understanding.
- Interpersonal and Oral Communication: Practice good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to foster a positive learning environment and build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Curriculum Development: Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community, ensuring that curriculum is relevant, inclusive, and meets the needs of students.
- Technology Integration: Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) for in-person, online, and blended course delivery, staying up-to-date with the latest technology trends and best practices.
- Classroom Management: Manage the classroom/lab/activities to ensure an optimal learning environment using an outcome-based approach, accommodating the special learning needs of students, including equity groups and diverse learners.
- Evaluation and Feedback: Use appropriate evaluation methods, record student progress, and provide constructive feedback to support student growth and development.
- A Master of Communication degree or equivalent graduate degree;
- Two years recent/relevant business/industry experience or post-secondary teaching experience;
- Effective communication skills (written and oral);
- Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to arrange, maintain, and evaluate resources;
- Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software, and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology;
- Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
