Strategic Academic Leader for a Unifying Vision
1 month ago
NSCAD University seeks an accomplished Provost to champion its growth and transformation plans. Reporting to the President, this senior academic leader will provide significant leadership and create a vision within a shared governance structure.
The ideal candidate will have financial acumen and experience in team building, enrollment growth, and project management, particularly in leading large building projects. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, administrative leaders, and the Board of Governors are essential.
Experience dealing with multiple stakeholders and representing NSCAD at every level is critical to success. A demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA), as well as anti-racist and decolonization strategies, is required. Experience advancing indigenization and reconciliation will also be important.
This exciting opportunity allows the successful candidate to work closely with the President and contribute to excellence in teaching, artistic creation, research, student experience, and service to the broader community.
We are committed to accessibility and encourage applications from diverse candidates. The university offers an immersive academic environment that celebrates creative contributions from all members.
Our Seriously Creative Strategic Plan focuses on three institutional pledges: student-centred art and design education; an equitable and inclusive NSCAD; a destination campus for creatives. Key objectives include transforming into a new, unified campus at the Halifax Seaport, flourishing student body growth, increasing residential capacity, and diversifying revenue streams.
An executive search partner, Perrett Laver, will support the university in identifying qualified candidates and assessing them against the selection criteria. Applications should consist of a full curriculum vitae and cover letter explaining how the candidate meets the selection criteria.
