Glass Installation Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Glass Installation Assistant. As a key member of our construction team, you will assist our experienced glaziers in the installation of glass products, including windows, mirrors, and glass panels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist glaziers in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications to determine the type and thickness of glass, frame, and installation procedure.
  • Load and unload materials, and move materials to work areas.
  • Assist with measuring and marking glass for cutting, and assist glaziers in cutting glass using glass cutters or computerized cutters.
  • Remove and dispose of debris at installation sites.
  • Assist with the assembly and dismantling of scaffolds, rigging, and hoisting equipment.
  • Transport, lift, hold, and position glass panes to the correct location for installation.
  • Assist glaziers with the installation of prefabricated glass, mirrors, or glass products on walls, ceilings, or exteriors of buildings.
  • Bring correct materials to site for fabrication of metal frames for glass installation when required.
  • Assist glaziers with the installation of pre-cut mirrors and opaque and transparent glass panels in frames to form exterior walls of buildings.
  • Assist with the removal or repairs of serviced residential windows, commercial aluminum doors, and other glass supporting structures.
  • Replace damaged glass or faulty sealant as directed by the glazier.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Punctuality and attention to detail.
  • Able to lift and hold 100 lbs repeatedly.
  • Take direction from supervising glaziers.
  • Personable and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Not afraid of heights.
  • Driver's license is an asset.
  • Will work in all weather conditions.
  • May require out-of-town work in Saskatchewan.
