Glass Installation Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to assist our Journeyman Glazier in various glass installation tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications to determine glass type and installation procedures.
  • Load and unload materials, and move them to work areas as needed.
  • Assist with measuring and marking glass for cutting, and help with the assembly of scaffolding and rigging equipment.
  • Transport and position glass panes to the correct location for installation, and secure them using clips or mouldings.
  • Assist with the installation of prefabricated glass, mirrors, and other glass products on walls, ceilings, and exteriors of buildings.
  • Bring necessary materials to site for fabrication of metal frames for glass installation.
  • Support the Journeyman Glazier with lifting, holding, installing, and measuring glass and metal products.
  • Assist with removal or repairs of serviced residential windows, commercial aluminum doors, and other glass supporting structures.
Requirements
  • Punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to lift and hold 100 lbs repeatedly.
  • Take direction from supervising Journeyman and be personable.
  • Able to work in all weather conditions and out of town work is required in Saskatchewan.
  • Driver's license is an asset.
Benefits
  • Extended Medical and Dental after 6 months.
  • All out of town costs are covered by the employer with an additional $65 per day.
