Accounting Professional for Hotel Operations

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team at Silver Hotel Group. As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial accuracy and integrity of our hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Management: Manage all property-level phases of accounts payable and assist with accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions.
- Payroll Administration: Oversee and lead the payroll process for the hotel, providing guidance and direction to department leaders to ensure payroll accuracy and timeliness.
- Guest Billing: Ensure that guests have the best possible experience by troubleshooting and resolving all billing-related disputes in a timely manner.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports and summaries of accounting activities as required, providing insights to inform business decisions.
- Account Reconciliation: Review all ledger details, including guest ledger, city ledger, and deposit ledgers, to validate proper payment and revenue posting, resolving issues as needed.
- HR Support: Ensure all new hire paperwork, benefits, and other pertinent personnel documents are uploaded to Payworks and maintained in accordance with company practices.
- Inventory Management: Participate in property inventory counts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Cash Handling: Reconcile and complete daily cash deposits, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Leadership and Training: Provide direction and training to hotel operational teams in areas related to accounting processes, internal controls, and payroll, etc.
- Compliance: Adhere to a system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control over Accounting Department activities.
- Accounting Experience: Minimum of two years demonstrated accounting/bookkeeping experience, preferably in hospitality.
- Accounting Knowledge: Accounting skills and knowledge acquired through business college or enrollment in an accounting program are considered an asset.
- Teamwork and Communication: Demonstrated ability to interact in a team environment with several divisions/departments, with a friendly and cooperative disposition.
- Administrative Skills: Strong administrative, organizational, and time management skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical skills to prepare reports and solve routine accounting problems.
- Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, with knowledge of SAGE, Maestro, Opera, POS, Delphi, and Excel a definite asset.
