Key Responsibilities
  • Material Needs Evaluation: Analyze and evaluate material needs for maintaining our rail fleet and logistics processes.
  • Cost Management: Manage and control costs associated with supplies, equipment, and services.
  • Warranty Administration: Manage warranty data and processes related to warranty claims.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with management team, customers, suppliers, partners, and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports to the Procurement Manager on material needs and costs.
Core Accountabilities
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environment policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Material Management: Ensure a smooth flow of goods between the Operations distribution chain.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure that the Company's inventory and shipping needs are up to date and that inventory levels are adequate for the needs of the operation.
  • Acquisition: Support the acquisition of new material and product data relating to the overall annual materials management plans.
  • Cost Analysis: Analyze the cost of products and services to ensure operating costs stay within budget.
  • Component Failure Analysis: Monitor component failures, identify patterns, and share data with the Reliability team.
  • Warranty Data Analysis: Analyze warranty data and status, complaint processing, and customer/supplier claims. Track and implement corrective actions.
  • Training and Development: Ensure warranty literature and reference material is current and distributed to the appropriate staff. Train staff on warranty policies and other related areas.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Comply with the Company's applicable policies and procedures as well as Human Resources' guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to build strong rapport with the team and unionized maintenance personnel.
  • Analytical Skills: 3 to 5 years of analyzing Materials and Warranty Administration.
  • Business Acumen: Extensive background of accomplishing business strategies.
  • Results-Oriented: Experience when dealing with headquarters as this individual will be accountable for results and overall performance produced.
  • Education: Diploma or degree in Inventory Control or Materials/Supply Chain Management or Warranty Administration or similar field.
Nice to Have
  • Unionized Environment Experience: Experience working in an unionized environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with other industries such as Aerospace.
  • Industry Expertise: Previous experience working in the passenger/rail transit industry is an asset.
