Fortinet, Inc. is seeking experienced Software Release Quality Assurance professionals to enhance the FortiClient QA Team. FortiClient serves as a robust endpoint security solution across various platforms including Microsoft Windows, macOS, Linux, Android OS, Apple iOS, and Chromebook.

Role Overview:

As a Software Release QA Specialist, your primary focus will be on evaluating FortiClient, which seamlessly integrates with a range of Fortinet products such as FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, FortiSandbox, and the FortiGuard Distribution Network (FDN). This role presents unique challenges daily, as you will engage with emerging technologies and concepts within the computer and networking sectors that necessitate vigilant monitoring and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct manual testing for software development and release phases of FortiClient.
  • Establish and manage diverse testing environments that incorporate multiple network components, utilizing both physical and virtual machines.
  • Execute and analyze outcomes from regression testing protocols.
  • Develop and sustain automated testing solutions using Python.
  • Generate comprehensive test documentation within internal tracking systems.
  • Oversee and address customer feedback and technical issues.
  • Continuously assess and report on industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with other Fortinet products: FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, FortiSandbox, etc.
  • Engage with developers, team leaders, and fellow QA professionals.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in network administration.
  • Two or more years of pertinent work experience or a related cooperative education experience is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Windows, macOS, or Linux administration.
  • Competence in programming or scripting languages (Perl, Python, Ruby, Tcl, Bash, Powershell, etc.).
  • Understanding of relational databases (MySQL, Postgres SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, etc.).
  • Awareness of cybersecurity threats such as anti-virus, ransomware, and exploits.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies.
  • Ability to create and execute test cases.
  • Experience in setting up testing environments.
  • Capability to reproduce reported product defects.
  • Skill in drafting bug reports.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.

Compensation and Benefits:

The anticipated salary range for this full-time position in Canada is between $97,000 and $131,000 annually. Salary ranges are influenced by various factors including market conditions, job classification, and experience level. Specific salary offers will be determined based on the candidate's expertise, skill set, qualifications, and professional background.
