Role Overview:
As a Software Release QA Specialist, your primary focus will be on the testing of FortiClient, which seamlessly integrates with a range of Fortinet solutions such as FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, FortiSandbox, and the FortiGuard Distribution Network (FDN). This role presents a dynamic work environment where daily challenges arise from the evolving landscape of technology and networking, necessitating vigilant monitoring and protective measures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct manual testing for software development and release cycles of FortiClient.
- Establish and manage diverse testing environments that incorporate multiple network components, utilizing both physical and virtual machines.
- Execute and analyze regression testing outcomes.
- Develop and sustain automated testing frameworks utilizing Python scripting.
- Generate detailed test reports within internal tracking systems.
- Oversee and address customer feedback and technical issues.
- Continuously evaluate and document industry best practices.
- Collaborate with other Fortinet products including FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, and FortiSandbox.
- Engage with developers, team leaders, and fellow QA professionals.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in network administration.
- At least two years of related work experience or equivalent co-op experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Windows, macOS, or Linux system administration.
- Proficient in programming or scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python, Ruby, Tcl, Bash, Powershell).
- Understanding of relational database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity threats including anti-virus, ransomware, and exploits.
- Experience with QA methodologies.
- Ability to create and execute test cases.
- Capable of setting up testing environments.
- Skilled in reproducing reported product issues.
- Proficient in generating bug reports.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Compensation and Benefits:
The expected salary range for this full-time position in Canada is between $97,000 and $131,000 annually. Salary offers will be determined based on various factors including the candidate's expertise, skill set, qualifications, and experience.
