Job Title: Plant Electrician - WPCP

Are you a skilled electrician looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity? We have an exciting role for a Plant Electrician at our Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) in Thunder Bay.

About the Role

As a Plant Electrician, you will be responsible for maintaining and installing electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment used in the operation of wastewater treatment facilities and wastewater lift stations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, install, repair, maintain, connect, and test electrical fixtures, apparatus, control equipment, and wiring for systems of alarm, communication, light, heat, and power in buildings or other structures.
  • Purchase equipment, materials, and parts required and recommend spare parts for inventory.
  • Obtain proper electrical permits for any retrofits, repairs, or new construction.
  • Maintain and upgrade plant schematics, manuals, operating procedures, and narratives.
  • Install, program, and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers and Graphics Packages.
  • Participate in the Plant's facility maintenance system and recommend changes or modifications to such systems.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Journeyman Electrician together with an Electronics Endorsement.
  • Fire Alarm Endorsement would be desirable.
  • Proven experience with Programmable Logic Controllers, SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) systems, and knowledge of computer drafting software.
