Plant Electrician - Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP)

Position Summary

As a Plant Electrician with the Corporation, you will be stationed at our Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP), where we are committed to minimizing the City's environmental impact, reducing air emissions, and enhancing operational efficiency. Our facility has recently been upgraded with a state-of-the-art Building Automation System (BAS) that optimizes heating and ventilation, alongside new high-efficiency turbo blowers. We take pride in our achievements at the WPCP, which fosters a sustainable work environment.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining and installing electrical systems, fixtures, and control equipment vital for the operation of wastewater treatment facilities and lift stations.

The role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and includes the following responsibilities:

Plan, install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, fixtures, and wiring for alarm, communication, lighting, heating, and power systems in various structures. Procure necessary equipment, materials, and parts, and recommend spare parts for inventory management. Secure appropriate electrical permits for retrofits, repairs, or new installations. Update and maintain plant schematics, manuals, and operational procedures. Install, program, and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers and associated graphics packages. Engage in the facility maintenance system and suggest improvements or modifications.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Certified Journeyman Electrician with an Electronics Endorsement Fire Alarm Endorsement is preferred Proven experience with Programmable Logic Controllers and SCADA systems, along with proficiency in computer drafting software
