Position Details

As a Plant Electrician with the Corporation, you will be stationed at our Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP), where we have made substantial progress in minimizing the City's carbon footprint, reducing air emissions, and optimizing operational costs. Recently, our facility has been upgraded with a state-of-the-art Building Automation System (BAS) that regulates heating and ventilation, along with new high-efficiency turbo blowers. We take pride in our accomplishments at the WPCP, which serves as a model for sustainability and an excellent workplace.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining and installing electrical systems, fixtures, and control equipment essential for the operation of wastewater treatment facilities and lift stations.

The role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and encompasses the following responsibilities:

Plan, install, repair, and maintain electrical fixtures, apparatus, control equipment, and wiring for alarm, communication, lighting, heating, and power systems in various structures. Procure necessary equipment, materials, and parts, and recommend spare parts for inventory management. Secure appropriate electrical permits for retrofits, repairs, or new installations. Update and maintain plant schematics, manuals, operating procedures, and documentation. Install, program, and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers and Graphics Packages. Engage in the Plant's facility maintenance system and suggest improvements or modifications.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Must possess a Journeyman Electrician certification along with an Electronics Endorsement. A Fire Alarm Endorsement is considered an asset. Proven experience with Programmable Logic Controllers and SCADA systems is essential, along with proficiency in computer drafting software.
