About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse/RPN to join our team in Surrey, BC. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide person-centered and recovery-oriented care to tertiary and older adult patients.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned clients
  • Develop and implement psycho-social rehabilitative plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members
  • Facilitate individual and group treatment using cognitive, behavioral, educational, problem-solving, and crisis intervention methods
  • Provide life skills training when applicable, including personal life, leisure, and medical nursing interventions
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing
  • One year recent related mental health experience in an acute, tertiary or community setting
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
Competencies
  • Ability to complete initial and ongoing mental health and substance use client assessments and provide nursing care through appropriate/prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety-type interventions
  • Knowledge of mental illness and substance use treatment
  • Working knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery
  • Counselling and group facilitation skills

Compensation and Benefits
