About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse/RPN to join our team in Surrey, BC. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide person-centered and recovery-oriented care to tertiary and older adult patients.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned clients
- Develop and implement psycho-social rehabilitative plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members
- Facilitate individual and group treatment using cognitive, behavioral, educational, problem-solving, and crisis intervention methods
- Provide life skills training when applicable, including personal life, leisure, and medical nursing interventions
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing
- One year recent related mental health experience in an acute, tertiary or community setting
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
- Ability to complete initial and ongoing mental health and substance use client assessments and provide nursing care through appropriate/prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety-type interventions
- Knowledge of mental illness and substance use treatment
- Working knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery
- Counselling and group facilitation skills
