About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide direct and indirect service to children, adolescents, and their families admitted to the Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Stabilization Unit or the Adolescent Psychiatric Unit.

Your primary responsibility will be to assess, intervene, and provide family therapy, group work, and case management services to clients in need. You will also participate in education and consultation with hospital and community professionals, network with community agencies throughout the region, and contribute to research, quality improvement, and program development as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments of individuals suffering acute episodes of mental illness
  • Provide psycho-education to patients and families regarding psychosocial aspects of mental illness, including treatment approaches and appropriate community resources
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including goals and interventions
  • Participate in ongoing development of the group therapy component of the program
  • Liaise with hospital and community mental health practitioners, MCFD, schools, family physicians, and community resources
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Master's degree in Social Work from an approved school of Social Work
  • Three (3) years' recent, related clinical experience in Child and/or Adolescent Mental Health
  • Current full registration with the BC College of Social Workers
