Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker - Building and Grounds to join our team at Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites Halifax. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our hotel and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sweep, mop, and clean hallways, floors, and stairs
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers
  • Perform minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Make adjustments and contact tradespersons for major repairs
  • Perform safety and security checks
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas
Requirements
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a maintenance or facilities role
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
