Job Title: Building Maintenance Worker

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Worker to join our team at Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites Halifax.

Job Summary:

The Building Maintenance Worker will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure the hotel's facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained. This includes sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors, emptying trash cans, and making minor repairs to heating, cooling, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Sweep, mop, and wax floors to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers to prevent odors and pests
  • Perform minor repairs to heating, cooling, and electrical systems to ensure they are functioning properly
  • Make adjustments to plumbing systems to prevent leaks and water damage
  • Perform safety and security checks to ensure the hotel's facilities are secure
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed
  • Perform other routine maintenance tasks as assigned
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a maintenance or facilities role
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and move equipment
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
