Job Title: Building Services Worker

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Building Services Worker to join our team at Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites Halifax.

Job Summary:

The Building Services Worker will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our hotel and resort, including performing routine maintenance tasks, operating industrial vacuum cleaners, and making adjustments to heating, cooling, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, and debris
  • Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment
  • Perform minor repairs on appliances
  • Perform safety and security checks
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to work in a hotel, motel, or resort environment
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Work Environment:

The Building Services Worker will work in a fast-paced hotel and resort environment, with frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals and physical demands.

Language:

The primary language of work is English.

Work Schedule:

The Building Services Worker will work 30 to 40 hours per week, with a permanent schedule.
