Job Title: Building Services Worker

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Building Services Worker to join our team at Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites Halifax.

Job Summary:

The Building Services Worker will be responsible for performing various maintenance tasks to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of our hotel and resort facilities. This includes operating industrial vacuum cleaners, washing windows and walls, making minor repairs to systems and appliances, and performing safety and security checks.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris and dirt
  • Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance
  • Perform minor repairs on appliances
  • Perform safety and security checks
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as painting and drywall repair
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and gardens
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects
  • Dependability, flexibility, and good judgement
Work Environment:

The Building Services Worker will work in a fast-paced hotel and resort environment, with frequent exposure to dust, dirt, and other allergens. The worker must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
