About the Role

The Payroll and Benefits Administrator is a key member of our team at Hendrix Genetics BV, responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all functions related to payroll and benefits administration. This role requires a high level of professionalism and confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of the work performed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for 380 employees in Canada, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage payroll data in Ceridian Dayforce, payroll grid (Excel), and Global HRIS (Talentsoft) systems.
  • Process various payroll transactions, including new hires, terminations, transfers, employee changes, adjustments, and garnishments.
  • Verify and check pay reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Liaise with the finance department regarding cash requirements, bank debits, and journal entries.
  • Manage accrued vacation, sick leave, and other benefits.
  • Administer taxable benefits and maintain applicable records.
  • Train new managers and supervisors on payroll systems and company policies.
  • Prepare various reports for management review at month-end.
  • Support managers in preparing payroll budgets and verifying total salary and benefits budgets.
  • Group Benefit Administration, including processing invoices, new members, terminations, and changes.
  • Upload monthly benefits invoices and prepare journal entries for posting.
  • Update and maintain employee profiles on online systems for benefit providers.
  • Accurately and timely handle benefits information, including customer service issues.
  • Workers Compensation & EHT, including preparation of monthly and/or quarterly remittances and e-filing.
  • Complete necessary documents, employment letters, and other payroll records.
  • Ongoing interaction and coordination with HR and managers.

About You

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a college diploma in business administration, finance, or a related field. Experience in payroll and benefits administration is essential, with 2-3 years of experience in a similar role. The ideal candidate will possess superior interpersonal and communication skills, a high level of planning and organization, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
