Game Production Solutions is a division within Creative Technologies at Electronic Arts, focused on building solutions for game teams and creators. Our mission is to empower game creators to make a significant impact with our technology.

Your Role with Us

We are seeking a Technical Director to lead our Skybuild product, a critical component of our portfolio. As a Technical Director, you will report to the Principal Technical Director and be responsible for the technical strategy and engineering team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Team Leadership: Manage a dynamic team of Leads and Individual Contributors in Build and Release, fostering an environment of innovation and collaboration.
  2. Partnerships: Collaborate with game and technical teams within Creative Technologies, as well as customers (game teams), to define goals and milestones.
  3. Solution Architecture: Work with Product Management, Creative Technologies Leadership, and partners to design technical solutions that meet project requirements and schedules.
  4. Technical Decision-making: Use your expertise to make technical decisions for the engineering team and articulate the technical roadmap.
  5. Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team, promoting a culture of learning and improvement.
  6. Quality Review: Review completed engineering deliverables to ensure they meet our standards of quality and reliability.
  7. Risk Management: Identify potential technical risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  8. Broad Technical Understanding: Develop an understanding of EA's game technologies, engines, and strategies to ensure alignment with EA's broader goals.
Requirements
  1. Experience working on large-scale Build and Release or collaborative platforms.
  2. Comprehensive understanding of CI/CD.
  3. 8+ years as a Software Engineer/Developer with increasing levels of responsibility.
  4. Experience with public cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  5. Proficiency in risk management and mitigation strategies.
  6. Comfortable working in a remote or hybrid environment.
  7. Willingness to travel for team meetings and partnerships.
  8. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Management skills required:

  1. 3+ years of experience as a People Manager.
  2. Ability to instill a customer-centric culture prioritizing game teams' needs.
  3. Mentorship, coaching, and development of team members.
  4. Clear goal-setting and delivery.
  5. Negotiation with partners, vendors, and customers.
