Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Chef to join our team at Tandoori Zaika. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations, developing new menu items, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Development
    • Design and implement new menu items that showcase our culinary expertise and meet customer preferences.
    • Collaborate with our culinary team to develop innovative and delicious dishes.
  • Kitchen Operations
    • Lead and manage our kitchen team to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and service.
    • Develop and implement kitchen procedures to maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.
  • Supply Chain Management
    • Source and procure high-quality ingredients and supplies to meet our culinary needs.
    • Manage inventory levels to minimize waste and optimize costs.
  • Team Management
    • Recruit, train, and develop our kitchen team to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional results.
    • Provide coaching and feedback to team members to improve performance and achieve goals.
Requirements
  • Education
    • No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Work Setting
    • Restaurant environment.
  • Ranks of Chefs
    • Executive Chef.
  • Tasks
    • Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items.
    • Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
    • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff.
    • Create new recipes.
    • Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
    • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets.
    • Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff.
    • Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.
    • Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods.
    • Requisition food and kitchen supplies.
    • Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
    • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
    • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
