Electrical Maintenance Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Canfor's Spruceland sawmill in Acheson, AB. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our electrical systems, including pumps, conveyors, compressors, and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on electrical systems to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance
  • Inspect and test electrical components, including transformers, transfer switches, and switch gears
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues, utilizing your knowledge of PLCs and electrical systems
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
  • Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance plans to improve system reliability and efficiency
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in industrial maintenance
  • Journeyperson Certificate, red seal considered an asset but not required
  • Physical capability to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work between day and afternoon shift as required by the schedule
  • High degree of urgency
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers
  • Superior troubleshooting skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner
