Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Certified Electrician to join our team at Canfor's Acheson, AB Remanufacturing facility. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our mill's electrical systems, including pumps, conveyors, compressors, and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Inspect and test electrical components, including transformers, transfer switches, and switch gears, to identify and troubleshoot issues.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and implement safe and reliable solutions to equipment malfunctions.
  • Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe work environment for coworkers, customers, and visitors on site.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Journeyperson Certificate, red seal considered an asset but not required.
  • Physical capability to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work between day and afternoon shift as required by the schedule.
  • High degree of urgency.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers.
  • Superior troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner.
