Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Greenhouse Labourer to join our team at Olds Oasis Organic Inc. as a key member of our agricultural operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to greenhouse management, crop care, and plant maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Crop Care: Cut horticultural crops, divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots, hand harvest vegetables, harvest seedlings, and train trees to produce more fruit of higher quality.
  • Greenhouse Operations: Operate climate controls, seed cutting, and assist in grafting activities.
  • Soil and Plant Care: Mix and prepare soils, pot and re-pot plants, apply fertilizers, and report signs of insect or disease damage.
  • General Maintenance: Clean work area, water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, and assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

The Greenhouse Labourer will work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, physically demanding conditions, and standing for extended periods. The successful candidate must be able to bend, crouch, and kneel as required.

Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: Will train on the job.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Term: Permanent.
  • Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
