Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Greenhouse Horticultural Assistant to join our team at Olds Oasis Organic Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of our greenhouse, including tasks such as cutting horticultural crops, dividing fresh harvested produce, and hand harvesting vegetables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the daily operations of the greenhouse, including tasks such as cutting horticultural crops, dividing fresh harvested produce, and hand harvesting vegetables.
  • Operate climate controls to maintain optimal growing conditions.
  • Train trees to produce more fruit of higher quality.
  • Assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants.
  • Mix and prepare soils for optimal plant growth.
  • Pot and re-pot plants as needed.
  • Apply fertilizers to promote healthy plant growth.
  • Report signs of insect or disease damage to management.
  • Assist in grafting activities to promote healthy plant growth.
  • Dig up wrapping rootballs of trees and shrubs.
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
  • Clean work area to maintain a safe and healthy environment.

  • Fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks.
  • Physically demanding with standing for extended periods and bending, crouching, and kneeling.
