Palliative Care Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Palliative Complex Care Unit at Burnaby Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients in the Palliative Complex Care Unit.
- Collect patient information, write timely and accurate reports, and participate in interdisciplinary conferences to develop effective care plans.
- Act as an advocate for patients' rights, dignity, and autonomy, and participate in quality improvement activities and research.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care, and participate in the orientation and ongoing education of nursing staff and students.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff, and perform other related duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Graduation from an approved school of Nursing.
- One year of recent acute medical/surgical nursing or acute palliative care experience, plus completion of a certificate in the designated clinical area, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
