Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at Chénchenstway, a 216-bed long-term care community in Burnaby, B.C.
About the Role:This is a Relief Full-Time opportunity that requires the successful candidate to work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide person-centered care to diverse populations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gerontological nursing and be able to apply clinical knowledge in practice.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct nursing care, including wound care, dementia care, and palliative care, and develop care priorities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Collect information from various sources using skills of observation, communication, and physical assessment to enable the provision of quality care.
- Document relevant observations, assessments, and interventions, including resident/client and family teaching and evaluation of care.
- Communicate resident/client assessments and changes to Physicians, Resident/Client Care Coordinator, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Act as an advocate to protect and promote residents'/client's rights to autonomy, respect, privacy, dignity, diversity, and access to information.
- Work in partnership with Licensed Practical Nurses and other interdisciplinary team members by sharing information, demonstrating, and/or providing guidance on clinical tasks.
Graduate of an approved School of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing. Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). One (1) year's recent, related gerontological nursing experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
