Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Compliance Specialist to join our team at Accountant Staffing. This permanent opportunity involves supporting tax compliance, reporting, and planning procedures for complex corporate and partnership structures across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee and coordinate all elements of tax compliance and return submissions for multiple partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
  2. Manage relationships with tax authorities as related to audits, information requests, and administrative issues, and prepare necessary responses.
  3. Oversee Goods and Services Tax (GST) / Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) compliance and filing requirements.
  4. Administer land transfer tax compliance and filing process.
  5. Review and respond to investor queries regarding tax reporting.
  6. Liaise with internal business units and assist in providing tax support services under the guidance of executive management.
Requirements and Qualifications
  1. Completed or near completion of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  2. Experience with taxation and compliance at an analyst or associate level for 3+ years.
  3. Experience within the real estate sector is considered an asset.
  4. Experience with corporate reorganization and asset transfer transactions is considered an asset.
  5. Solid understanding of tax legislation and compliance requirements for partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
  6. Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex tax matters to both financial and non-financial stakeholders when necessary.
