Job Description

We are currently seeking a Senior Tax Analyst for a permanent opportunity with our client in Halifax, NS. This hybrid role involves supporting tax compliance, reporting, and planning procedures for complex corporate and partnership structures across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:
  1. Oversee and coordinate all elements of tax compliance and return submissions for multiple partnerships, corporations and trusts.
  2. Manage relationship with CRA as related to audits, information requests and administrative issues and preparing necessary responses.
  3. Oversee GST / HST compliance and filing requirements.
  4. Administer land transfer tax compliance and filing process.
  5. Review and respond to investor queries regarding tax reporting.
  6. Liaise with internal business units and assist in providing tax support services under the guidance of executive management.
Experience & Attributes for Success:
  1. Completed or near completion of CPA designation.
  2. Experience with taxation and compliance at an analyst or associate level for 3+ years.
  3. Experience within the real estate sector is considered an asset.
  4. Experience with corporate reorganization and asset transfer transactions is considered an asset.
  5. Solid understanding of tax legislation and compliance requirements for partnerships, corporations and trusts.
  6. Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex tax matters to both financial and non-financial stakeholders when necessary.
