Fiera is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to fill a permanent role. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Treasury and Taxation, you will be instrumental in supporting Canadian tax compliance, reporting, and planning for various corporate and partnership structures within real estate investment funds across multiple Canadian jurisdictions. This role will also involve addressing inquiries related to tax implications of transactions and collaborating closely with external tax advisors on various planning aspects and technical tax inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of tax compliance and return submissions for various partnerships, corporations, and trusts in collaboration with external firms;
- Manage relationships with the CRA concerning audits, information requests, and administrative matters, including preparing necessary responses;
- Supervise GST/HST compliance and filing obligations across multiple real estate funds;
- Administer land transfer tax compliance and filing processes with relevant municipalities;
- Review and address investor inquiries regarding tax reporting and individual implications;
- Collaborate with internal business units to provide tax support services under the guidance of executive management.
- Completion or near completion of CPA designation.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in taxation and compliance at an analyst or associate level.
- Strong understanding of tax legislation and compliance requirements for partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
- Familiarity with the Excise Tax Act and GST/HST compliance issues.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively articulate complex tax matters to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience with corporate reorganization and asset transfer transactions, along with their associated tax implications, is an asset.
- Experience in the real estate sector is considered advantageous.
- Fiera Capital operates under a hybrid working model, requiring 3 days in-office per week.
- We encourage candidates who meet 70% or more of the qualifications to submit their applications.
