About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Analyst to join our team at TAL Life LTD. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in supporting our tax compliance, reporting, and planning procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee and coordinate all elements of tax compliance and return submissions for multiple partnerships, corporations, and trusts in conjunction with outside firms.
  2. Manage relationships with tax authorities as related to audits, information requests, and administrative issues, and prepare necessary responses.
  3. Oversee GST/HST compliance and filing requirements across multiple real estate funds.
  4. Administer land transfer tax compliance and filing process with relevant municipalities.
  5. Review and respond to investor queries regarding tax reporting and individual impacts.
  6. Liaise with internal business units and assist in providing tax support services under the guidance of executive management.
Requirements
  1. Completed or near completion of CPA designation.
  2. Experience with taxation and compliance at an analyst or associate level for 3+ years.
  3. Good understanding of tax legislation and compliance requirements for partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
  4. Exposure to Excise Tax Act and GST/HST filing and compliance issues.
  5. Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex tax matters to both financial and non-financial stakeholders when necessary.
  6. Experience with corporate reorganization and asset transfer transactions and associated tax impacts considered an asset.
  7. Experience with real estate considered an asset.
