Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Clinician to join our Acute Care team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide primary therapeutic, case management, and mental health and substance use support services to clients in hospital, residential, and community settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to clients with mental health and substance use issues
  • Develop and implement comprehensive care plans in collaboration with the inter-professional clinical team, clients, and families
  • Conduct assessments and risk evaluations to identify client needs and develop strategies for support
  • Collaborate with community agencies and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care transitions
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate degree in a mental health and substance use related discipline, plus two years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Registration with a relevant professional college or association (e.g. CRNBC, CRPNBC)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and healthcare teams
  • Strong assessment and treatment skills, with the ability to integrate best practice and current research evidence into professional practice decisions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of autonomy and flexibility
