Job Title: Counsel, Claims Regulatory Compliance

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced legal counsel to join our team at Ignite Talent Solutions. As a Counsel, Claims Regulatory Compliance, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to our clients, with a focus on compliance matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review contracts and agreements, providing legal advice on legal and regulatory matters.
  • Support the Chief Compliance Officer with all legal and litigation matters.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including the Bank Act, privacy laws, FCAC regulations, b10, b20, E-13, RCM guidelines.
  • Assist with the development of policies and compliance matters.
  • Provide training to staff on legal and compliance matters.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Represent the legal Department on special projects, new product proposals, and risk management initiatives, vendor contracts.
  • Assess legal and reputational risk of new initiatives or changes to existing products and services.

Requirements:

  • Law degree from an accredited law school and qualified to practice law in Canada.
  • 2 years of experience practicing law.
  • Superior analytical and communication skills both in legal and business settings.
