Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting our chefs and kitchen staff with food preparation, cleaning, and maintenance of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Assist chefs and kitchen staff with food preparation, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to maintain a high level of hygiene and safety.
  • Plate Presentation: Assist with plating and garnishing dishes to ensure a visually appealing presentation.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with receiving, unpacking, and storing supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assist with cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, including conventional ovens, deep fryers, and food dispensers.
  • Waste Management: Assist with removing kitchen garbage and trash, and recycling materials.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Weight Handling: Ability to lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • Language: English.
  • Availability: 35 to 48 hours per week.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is an asset.
