About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and efficient Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Young Pocha Korean BBQ Restaurant. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and providing exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to maintain a high level of hygiene and food safety.
  • Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of food, including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients, as well as cooking and reheating food to order.
  • Supply Management: Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas to ensure that all necessary ingredients are available.
  • Waste Management: Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and ensure that all waste is disposed of in a responsible and environmentally friendly manner.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance of kitchen equipment, including cleaning and sanitizing appliances, and reporting any issues or malfunctions to management.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Experience in a kitchen environment is an asset.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy loads, and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Language: English language proficiency.
