Job Summary:

The Fibre Construction Project Manager will oversee the successful completion of projects related to new fibre network builds, including dark fibre, enterprise, E-Rate, and fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) initiatives. This role requires managing all aspects of projects, including client and vendor relationships, as well as engineer, drafter, and administrative personnel to ensure timely completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate pricing and manage subcontractors for small cell node construction.
  • Identify and procure necessary resources, including suppliers and subcontract-labor.
  • Issue or oversee issuance of vendor purchase orders to suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Compile and submit matrix pricing bids with the assistance of a project coordinator.
  • Procure materials and manage their delivery for projects.
  • Schedule construction activities through in-house or subcontract labour resources and report schedule to clients.
  • Update client trackers daily/weekly for various stages of completion based on construction schedules.
  • Attend weekly conference calls with clients to provide progress updates.
  • Identify critical issues impacting/delaying overall project timelines and work with supervisors to present solutions to clients.
  • Manage project coordinators to oversee administrative duties, including permit submittals and purchase order requests.
  • Collaborate with Site Acquisition and A&E teams to determine the best construction solutions for clients.
  • Responsible for budgeting and monthly revenue with assistance from the Division Manager or Regional Director.
  • Effectively communicate with the Division Manager or Regional Director regarding schedules, status, productivity, and performance.
  • Work with local utility providers and/or city authorities to ensure compliance with all requirements and market performance.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with clients, partners, and local authorities aimed at safeguarding and promoting client interests.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of bulk projects consisting of 20-30 projects annually.
  • Provide support to team members by assisting in prioritizing and managing workloads.
  • Provide day-to-day production support for project issues.
  • Willingness to travel 50-60%.
