About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Utility Worker to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain all areas of the hospital, including floors, walls, and surfaces
  • Operate cleaning equipment and machinery, including floor care and carpet shampooing
  • Remove waste and recyclables, and participate in hazardous waste disposal
  • Assist with chemical spill cleanup and other environmental hazards
  • Perform laundry tasks and room set-ups as required
About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills. A Grade 12/GED or equivalent work experience is required, and preference will be given to applicants with cleaning and floor care experience. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.

Hours and Compensation
  • This is a long-term, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Assignment is approximately 12 months in length
  • Hourly rate: $19.26 - $20.02
