About the Role

We are seeking an experienced National Operations and Network Coordinator to join our team at NAV CANADA. In this critical role, you will be responsible for coordinating all release and restoration activities on a national scale, ensuring seamless network maintenance and operational systems for all Flight Information Regions (FIRs) and Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate national release and restoration activities, including network maintenance and operational systems for all FIRs and ANSPs.
  • Arrange the initiation and revision of advisory actions, ensure follow-up, identify network dependencies in case of a breakdown, and restore network functionality in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate network corrective maintenance by evaluating problem impact, consulting with operations to determine operational impact, initiating corrective actions, and establishing restoration priorities.
  • Monitor network performance proactively, analyze performance indicators, prepare trend reports, and brief appropriate personnel on network performance.
  • Support the Safety and Quality Program, attend safety activities, and help identify hazardous or potentially hazardous situations.
  • Participate in audits, site inspections, and evaluations.
  • Conduct Fire Warden Duties and Building Evacuation coordination in emergency situations.
  • Provide first aid services to employees within their work location.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on procedures, investigations, and information gathering.
  • Perform initial triage on cyber security events.
  • Manage service management activities, including service incident, change management, service escalations, and service performance reporting, using various supplier portals.
Requirements
  • A Secondary school diploma and completion of an acceptable training program in electronics technology or an approved alternative.
  • Experience in IP-based networking and network monitoring.
Desirable Skills and Qualities
  • Knowledge of computer systems and networking.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance schedules and priorities.
  • Thorough knowledge of Air Navigation System (ANS) systems and equipment regarding function, user requirements, safety and security standards, loss of redundancy, and operational impact caused through loss of service.
Working Conditions
  • This position is based at the Ottawa Air Navigation Service and is classified as an onsite position.
  • The work involves extended periods of sustained mental attention, unpredictable workload, multiple and conflicting priorities, tight deadlines, unscheduled tasks, and the requirement to respond to emergency situations rapidly.
  • The work involves 24-hour shift coverage.
Estimated Salary

$75,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience.
